Samsung has demonstrated the ‘unique’ connectivity of its Galaxy NX camera using the NX Rover, a web user-controlled camera-bot, which it says is the first of its kind.

Created by Cheil UK and inspired by Mars exploration rovers, the NX Rover is set to appear at different international locations and give keen photographers the opportunity to take control of the machine via a microsite on the Samsung website.

Equipped with the Galaxy NX camera, which Samsung said is the “first interchangeable-lens camera with 3G/4G LET and Wi-Fi sharing capabilities”, the NX Rover will visit a series of places and events including an FC Bayern Munich training session and an after-hours visit to a London museum. Stephen Taylor, vice president of brand and retail at Samsung Electronics Europe, explained: “We’re giving people all over Europe access to shoot some wonderful places and events, full of extraordinary photo opportunities.“Cheil UK has created a unique piece of technology that will allow people everywhere to experience the amazing image quality and instant photo sharing capabilities of the Galaxy NX Camera.”
Visitors to the site can see the NX Rover’s schedule, get tips and watch insight films from top photographers. The best images taken by consumers will also be showcased.
