BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra digital producers Alistair Parrington and Laura-May Coope are set to leave the BBC this week to launch Social Life, a new social media agency.

The newly-formed company has already been enlisted by production house and record label Xenomania, to re-launch its digital presence and to create and curate its social media and YouTube channels.

Parrington, who has led digital innovation at Radio 1 and 1Xtra for over five years said: "I'm really excited to be starting a brand new social agency with Laura-May. After 8 years working to make Radio 1 one of the most exciting and online channels for young audiences the time is right to take my expertise on to a new level and bring the internet and people together in ever more strange and brilliant ways".

Social Life will also be responsible for creating and producing social media strategies for a roster of new Xenomania signings.

This comes a month after BBC appointed social media producers to handle the Radio 1 and 1Xtra accounts.
