Harry Styles and Beyonce see The 2014 Brit Awards achieve record Twitter audience of over 4m tweets
The Brit Awards 2014 generated a record breaking 4.17 million Tweets, making it the most tweeted-about TV show ever recorded in the UK.Analytics firm SecondSync tweeted its statistics from the evening, claiming that it had generated more than twice the number of tweets than during the previous year, while also reaching a record peak of 78,000 tweets per second.

The three most discussed events from the evening were the opening and closing of the social vote, followed by a performance by Beyonce at 8.59pm, who was also the most talked about performer. 41 of the 42 performers on the evening also have Twitter accounts, the platform pointed out on its blog.Included in that was a Twitter stunt by Paddy Power which saw two Daft Punk lookalikes walk down the red carpet wearing the bookmakers Green Y fronts.
