Macmillan Cancer Support has built on its proposition that no one should face cancer alone with the launch of its second TV campaign.

Created by VCCP, the national campaign commences with a 60” TV spot debuting on Monday 17 February, supported by print, media and digital activity, with digital and out of home communications featuring real people who have been affected by cancer as well as real Macmillan nurses.

“We hope to build on the success of last year’s campaign and reach even more people affected by cancer through this advertising. In this advert, we show that Macmillan not only supports people with cancer but all those who care for them too,” said Hilary Cross, director of marketing and communications at Macmillan Cancer Support.

“The number of people diagnosed with cancer is set to double – from two to four million - in the next twenty years, which will put tremendous pressure on our services. It’s now more important than ever that we extend our reach, and inspire more people to support Macmillan whether that’s through donating, campaigning or volunteering.”

Told through the eyes of a woman who has cancer, the ad shows all of the people who have helped her in her battle including friends, family members, strangers and, of course, her Macmillan nurse. The ad ends with the nurse checking on her, with the voiceover reaffirming the charity’s message – ‘No one should face cancer alone’.

Macmillan Cancer Support offers medical, emotional, financial and practical support for those affected by cancer and pushes for better cancer care.
