“It's all about standing out” - Tom Pascoe-Williams explains why he sent promoted tweets to try to get an internship
If you follow London based ad agencies, the name Tom Pascoe-Williams and the Twitter handle @tompascoew might ring a bell.Pascoe-Williams decided to use Twitter to promote himself as he looked to gain account management internships before graduation, with the aim to achieve an entry-level job.He sent a promoted tweet to the followers of 40 ad and digital agencies in London.

— Tom (@tompascoew) February 11, 2014He told The Drum: “I desperately needed to build my contacts, and I recognised that all the people I wanted to have these conversations with were right there in front of me, I just needed a little push. "It's all about standing out at this stage, I've sent hundreds of emails, called many many agencies and none of them have gotten back to me, so I thought I'd play them at their own game!”Since the launch of the campaign, which has led to over 56,000 impressions, Pascoe-Williams has been asked to six interviews, as well as being contacted by multiple recruitment agencies.
