BSkyB’s director of trading John Litster has been appointed managing director of its advertising sales division Sky Media as part of a senior management restructure.

Jamie West - director of the pay-TV operator’s addressable TV advertising service AdSmart, and commercial development – has also been promoted to the role of deputy managing director of Sky Media.

Meanwhile director of brand strategy and communication Jeremy Tester has also been promoted as deputy managing director.

The restructure has been made as a result of the sudden death of former managing director Nick Milligan, who died in a boat accident in Cornwall last year.

Duncan Wynn will replace Litster as director of trading.

Andrew Griffith, Sky managing director, commercial businesses and chief financial officer, said: “I would like to thank John, Jeremy and the rest of the Sky Media team for all their hard work and support, particularly in the last nine months. Handling the tragic loss of Nick, whilst still delivering exceptional performance, is an inspiration to us all. John now has the opportunity to build on what is an incredibly strong foundation and ensure that Sky Media continues to shape the media sales landscape.”

Litster added: “I’m delighted to take on this exciting role at Sky Media, leading the best team in the business. From dynamic ad-serving in on-demand content, to tailored advertising in linear TV, I’m looking forward to helping Sky Media lead the way in delivering unique opportunities to advertisers.”

All appointments will begin with immediate effect.
