Sheridans become first UK media law firm to accept Bitcoin payments
Sheridans has announced it is to respond to requests made by clients by accepting payments for its legal advice in the form of Bitcoin’s as well as pounds and pence.
The media law firm believes it is the first business in the sector to make the jump, albeit all payments will be subject to the terms of an ‘engagement letter’.
Eitan Jankelewitz, a solicitor in the firm’s Technology Group, commented: “Having advised bitcoin businesses for the past year or more, I am delighted that we have now joined the growing bitcoin economy and that we are able to offer this payment option to our clients.
This initiative underlines our understanding and acceptance of new technologies and serves to enhance our status as lawyers advising cutting edge clients.”
Sheridans move follows that of Forever Beta, which recently became the first UK creative agency to accept Bitcoin payments.
