Programmatic platform PubMatic hires former Microsoft Advertising global brand marketing head Terri Walter

Publishers’ programmatic advertising platform PubMatic has appointed former head of global brand marketing at Microsoft Advertising Terri Walter as chief marketing officer.

In her previous role, Walter led global repositioning of the Microsoft Advertising brand as well as advertising, content, sales enablement and go-to-market functions for global marketing. At PubMatic, her remit will include product marketing, corporate communications and social media.

She will report to Kirk McDonald, president at PubMatic, who said: “Terri brings a wealth of knowledge and extraordinary marketing leadership to PubMatic. As global adoption of programmatic and real-time bidding (RTB) buying reaches $20.8bn by 2017, according to the IDC, PubMatic continues to rapidly expand its operations.

“Terri joined at a pivotal time for PubMatic; her insight and industry knowledge will elevate the brand in line with our strategic objectives. We are extremely proud to welcome her to our leadership team.”

Prior to her role at Microsoft, Walter served as global vice president, emerging media at Razorfish and vice president of marketing at DoubleClick. She has been in the marketing sector for 20 years.
