iSocket raises $5m in funding from Time Warner Investments and Condé Nast to further premium programmatic offering

Programmatic trading firm iSocket has raised $5m in funding from Time Warner Investments, Condé Nast and R&R Venture Partners – comprising Dick Parsons, Ronald Lauder and Vivi Nevo - to further its premium inventory programmatic direct offering.

In addition, former Microsoft executive Kevin McCabe – who directed product management and demand-side enablement for the Microsoft Advertising Exchange and Microsoft’s Programmatic Direct channel -has joined the company as VP of business development.

Rachel Lam, SVP and group managing director, Time Warner Investments, said: “Today, the majority of display, mobile and video advertising spend goes to premium inventory that is sold directly, at guaranteed fixed prices.

“As one of the first innovators in the premium, direct-sold segment, iSocket is uniquely positions to help advertisers and publishers automate this process. We are thrilled to be working with this talented team, and expect this investment to give us valuable insight into the fast-moving programmatic direct market.”

Richard Jalichandra, CEO of iSocket, added: “A new era in media sales is beginning, and automation will be playing a huge role. We’re very pleased to have Time Warner and Condé Nast, two of the biggest names in publishing, endorsing our model for advertising sales automation.”

The company’s iFA – iSocket For Advertisers - services automates the buying process for premium inventory that would normally be sold directly. The system allows advertisers to by premium inventory directly from publishers like Microsoft, Reuters and Forbes.
