Super Bowl XLVIII generates 24.9m tweets with Percy Harvin the most tweeted about player

This year’s Super Bowl generated over 24.9m tweets, beating last year’s figure.

The game and the half time show featuring the Seahawks and the Broncos beat last year’s 24.1 million tweets sent last year.

Meanwhile, an 87-yard kickoff return by Percy Harvin, which resulted in a touch-down at the opening of the 3rd quarter, saw traffic peak at 381,605 tweets per minute.

Harvin was also the most mentioned player during the game on Twitter.
