In order to help people to find and understand the food experiences on offer at its six central London shops Fernandez & Wells has engaged digital agency Somewhat to create its new website.

The classic Soho brand’s stripped back aesthetic has been extended to its site merging the brand story with design and functionality. The fully responsive site has been designed to feel like a mobile app, to be both functional and useful for customers on the go.

Built in HTML5 the site includes Google Maps with map function places at the front end of the site for users to easily find store locations and share with friends.

Fernandez & Wells co-founder, Rick Wells, said of the site: “It's exciting to have a site that genuinely feels like a part of us – that captures the look and feel of F&W, that arouses curiosity and whets the appetite, while also being a useful and practical tool for our existing or potential customer.”

The website is one of a slew of online redesigns focused on mobile-first with House of Fraser and bar chain Revolution both unveiling new sites in the last week designed for mobile users before desktop.
