A grieving father has found consolation in the form of a video collation of his deceased son’s life, pulled together from material posted on Facebook.

Following the social network’s recently launched ‘Look Back’ feature, which celebrates its 10th birthday, the website has created a series of 60 sec video clip documenting individual’s time on the site.

Requesting just such a piece for his own son John Berlin took to YouTube to launch an emotional appeal to Mark Zuckerberg for assistance.

After the video came to prominence on Reddit and a local radio station Facebook duly got in touch to confirm they would create the content from Jesse’s public posts.

Commenting on his success Berlin said: “I didn't know what to expect from this but it was worth a try. My son was 21 and died of natural causes, his autopsy came back undetermined. He is proof that there are no guarantees in life. Hug your children kiss them. Tell them you love them every single day. Again I thank every single one of you, even the dislikes. God Bless.”
