The tragic love story of two car accessories forever destined to be apart, it’s not quite Shakespeare but it is Volkswagen’s latest ad.

Promising to bring a tear to your eye, the Adam&Eve DDB creation effortlessly tells the tale of a male bunny, sat on the dashboard of a Volkswagen Golf, falling in love with his female counterpart, stuck to the back window of the van in front.

As they gaze into each other’s eyes their vehicles get closer together and just as we think the fluffy pair will finally be together the Golf’s Automatic Distance Control technology kicks in making the two vehicles drift apart. Well the course of true love never did run smooth, did it?

The ad is currently airing across Europe and is due to hit UK screens later in the year.
