Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has been revealed as the face of Dulux’s annual ‘Colour of the Year’ campaign, an accolade which goes to ‘Sea Urchin 1’ following extensive research from an 18-strong panel of global colour and trend experts.

Slipping back into her dancing shoes for the ballet-inspired shoot, Dixon follows in the footsteps of Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts who fronted the ‘Indigo Night’ colour of the year campaign last year.

With an expert panel brought together by Dulux parent company, AkzoNobel, the paint brand has been predicting its ‘Colour of the Year’ for over a decade, with Dixon’s campaign the second to be fronted by a celebrity ambassador.

Donning the teal shade, Dixon’s shoot draws inspiration from the ‘teal duck’ with feathered make up and cues to classical ballet Swan Lake.

Dulux’s decision to use celebrity ambassadors is part of a wider movement which sees the brand looking to move outside of the traditional homes and interiors space and into other sectors including colour and trend predictions.
