BBC Worldwide regional director SEA, Sukesh Singh has joined Odyssey Mobile to head up its newly opened Asian headquarters in Singapore.

The expansion by the British Independent mobile advertising company will see Singh take control of the new office in March after eight years at the BBC.

The Drum understands that the Singapore office is already working with Lexus on a campaign through Zenith Optimedia in Asia.

Chris Gale, CEO and founder of Odyssey explained his belief that the mobile advertising market should be a big target for British advertising companies: "There is a huge opportunity in mobile advertising growth throughout the region as smartphone penetration and data packages continue to improve and more and more consumers are turning to mobile as the first port of call for internet access. Brands are starting to realise the potential of mobile advertising but require Odyssey's solution to deliver Media, Creative and Technology to meet their marcoms objectives and tell memorable brand stories on mobile."

Last year the company also opened offerings in Sweden, headed up by Marcus Erlandsson and Johan Hedren.
