Burton’s Biscuit Company is set to spend £3m on marketing its Maryland Gooeys this year, and has today kicked off a £1.2m national TV advertising campaign with VCCP and UM London.

Following the first wave of advertising for the Gooeys product that ran in July-August last year, the new campaign will run until 23 February.

Stuart Wilson, chief marketing officer at Burton’s Biscuit Company, said: “The continued investment in this extremely popular product will ensure that Maryland retains its position as the nation’s favourite cookie, and reflects our commitment behind Burton’s Biscuit Company’s Power Brands.

"Maryland Gooeys has had a brilliant response from consumers and retailers alike, helping to transform the biscuit aisle - and we will ensure this continues throughout 2014.”

As per last year’s creative, the new ad features a characterful mug collection.
