Advertiser sales revenue driven by Facebook ads increased 60 per cent quarter on quarter between Q3 and Q4 2013, research from Kenshoo has found, with quarterly impressions increasing by 51 per cent.

The data reflects more than 115 billion Facebook ads across a representative sample of advertisers and agencies globally who used the Kenshoo Social social media marketing platform in Q3 and Q4 2013.

It was also discovered that total clicks went up by 66 per cent, while the click-through rate (CTR) rose by 10 per cent.

“We saw over a 100 per cent increase in spend from Facebook advertisers on our platform in the final quarter,” explained Rob Coyne, managing director of EMEA for Kenshoo.

“Consumers have historically been more likely to engage online and convert in Q4 vs. Q3 due to the festive shopping season. And marketers who tailor their Facebook ads to capture this heightened intent can increase click-through rate and conversion further.”

Facebook recently announced plans to drop its Sponsored Stories ad platform.
