The BBC 6 Music Festival is set to be promoted though an out of home campaign by Kinetic UK, MEC Manchester and Primesight.

The creative campaign was managed by MEC, while Kinetic secured Primesight’s 96-sheet site on Albion Street for a local street artist to spray paint the billboard with the names of the featured artists as they are announced during a live broadcast at Manchester Piccadilly records.

Saeeda Seddon, account manager at Kinetic, said: “Primesight’s premium Manchester location was the perfect site for this creatively charged, collaborative campaign that demonstrates how a simple combination of artistic talent, digital technology and combined media can be used in a cost-effective way while still delivering maximum creativity and exposure. We wanted to reflect the energy and excitement of the live BBC Radio 6 announcement and give it the highest profile possible.”

Kerry Thomas, account executive at MEC, said: “BBC 6 Music is a unique brand, and so MEC wanted to showcase the festival with a unique solution. Our approach showcases the fantastic line-up with a large dose of Mancunian flair! This team effort has resulted in a campaign that stretches the possibilities of a traditional out of home campaign.”

The BBC 6 Music Festival takes place on 28 February and 1 March.
