Google, Tesco, Twitter and Weve are among the speakers at the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) Mobile Engage event in May, for which The Drum is media partner.

The event, which is in its fifth year, will kick off with insights for marketers looking to capitalise on the continuously growing mobile market in 2014, culminating in a fireside chat with actor, author and mountaineer Brian Blessed.

Among those who will be sharing insight and predictions for marketers at the event are Google’s director of mobile, EMEA Ian Carrington; Tesco’s head of research and development Nick Lansley, and Twitter’s UK managing director Bruce Daisley.

Delegates will also hear from CEO of mobile marketing and wallet joint venture Weve, David Sear, Mark Freeman, creative partner for mobile agency Movement, and Simon Wheatcroft - &Adapt blog founder and blind ultramarathon runner.

The IAB’s director of mobile and operations Jon Mew said: “With UK smartphone owners now averaging a total of two hours and 12 minutes per day on connected devices, it’s no surprise to see so many brands making the leap to mobile. The medium has gone from strength to strength over the past five years, at Mobile Engage 2014, we want to celebrate this success as well as equip marketers with the knowledge and know-how to make mobile mandatory. The event promises to inspire and delight even the most experienced marketer.”

IAB Mobile Engage, whose premium sponsor is mobile advertising sales agency 4th Screen, will kick off on Thursday 15 May at the Mermaid Centre in Blackfriars, London.
