Pepsi is hyping up the Super Bowl halftime show, for which it is the official sponsor, with an ad that looks at what a Grammy halftime show might be like.

In lieu of pop stars or famous bands, like Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers who will be playing during this year’s Super Bowl, the Pepsi Grammy halftime show features past NFL players Shannon Sharpe, Mike Ditka, Terry Bradshaw and Deion Sanders.

"For years and years, Super Bowl halftime has been about music on sports' biggest stage," Seth Kaufman, vice president for marketing colas at Pepsi North America Beverages told USa Today. "We thought, 'What if we flipped it around and Pepsi brought football to music's biggest night?'"

A teaser spot is set to run this Sunday, 19 January, during the ‘Seattle Seahawks v. San Francisco 49ers game play-off, with the full two-and-a-half minute version planned to run mid-way through the Grammys telecast on 26 January.

Both ads encourage viewers to use the hashtag #halftime across social media.
