Acromas Group has appointed Starcom to manage its media planning and buying across its AA and Saga Group brands in a deal worth £16 million.

Starcom, which won the accounts after a competitive pitch, will work with the brands’ creative agency VCCP on all the campaigns, with a remit to manage the media buying and planning across all channels apart from search.

Acromas's group marketing director Tim Pethick said: “Over the coming years we are planning to continue to develop our market-leading brands Saga and the AA.

“Starcom understands how to strike the right balance between brand and performance marketing. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Nigel Waring, director of performance marketing at Starcom MediaVest Group, said, “We’re delighted to be working with two renowned brands on the next stage of their development. With our passion to create meaningful human experiences, we’re excited to support AA and Saga Group in its communications initiatives and engaging consumers across multiple channels.”

The accounts were previously held by PHD, which resigned the account last December.

Starcom’s campaign activity across both brands will kick off in February.
