Nokia is set to launch a social photography experiment on 20 January, which will see 30 smartphones being distributed throughout the world to share pictures of cities.

Nokia sent 30 Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphones around the world to be passed from person to person to capture images of the city in which the people live, with the experiment out of Nokia’s hands.

Starting from 20 January hundreds of images will arrive daily on the Nokia microsite, and the campaign will evolve day by day as more pictures are taken.

Participants will tag their photos with hashtags representing their feelings and interpretations, before passing the phone on.
