Brandwatch has appointed ex-Topsy executives Even Walser and Aaron Hayes-Roth to join the company as VPs, as the company looks to expand to San Francisco.

The move comes after Apple acquired Topsy Labs in December 2013.

“As a global technology company, establishing ourselves on the West Coast has long been a priority for us. Apple has presented us with a huge opportunity here, and we’re certainly going to make the most of it,” revealed Giles Palmer, CEO at Brandwatch. “Ensuring we’re close to the epicenter of the social media ecosystem will help us to provide our clients with the most relevant, accurate data available.”

In line with Brandwatch’s move to San Francisco, the two new hires will begin the process of building up the West Coast contingent, the company has revealed, with Walser becoming vice president of enterprise sales, and Hayes-Roth taking the position of vice president of strategic alliances.

Walser said: "In Brandwatch, I have found a company that mirrors Topsy's capabilities and dedication to superior usability through the marriage of technology and design. I am very excited by the opportunity to build a strong presence here in San Francisco."

In 2013, Brandwatch opened an office in Chicago, having already set up its North American headquarters in New York.
