ASOS, the online fashion retailer, has seen its online customer base grow by 41 per cent in the last year to 7.9 million year-on-year, with sales growing by 38 per cent in the last quarter of the year to £335.7m.

The company saw total group revenue increase by 37 per cent to £342.567m during the final quarter of 2013, while total international retail sales were up by 38 per cent to £201.998m.

Nick Robertson, CEO, described the Christmas period as "strong".

He explained: "These results were driven by significant improvements to our customer proposition, including better delivery options, additional payment methods and the roll out of our premier service in key international markets."

He added that the company had also benefitted from a "tighter" control on its stock and that it planned to open its central European distribution centre later this year.
