Domino’s Pizza has revealed that online sales has grown to reach two thirds of its UK delivered sales, as it reported a 15.6 per cent growth in system sales during its final quarter of 2013 to £170.4m.

The pizza delivery company, saw a like-for-like sales growth of 10.9 per cent during the period, which is cited as being partly due to digital marketing activity and ‘favourtable timing’ for the Christmas holiday period.

As a result, online sales grew to account for 65.5 per cent of UK deliveries, up by 15.7 per cent to £94.4m in comparison with the same period the previous year, with the year’s total at £325.9m.

Lance Batchelor, CEO of Domino’s, commented: "I am pleased to report an outstanding last quarter of like-for-like sales growth in our core UK market and robust like-for-like sales growth in the Republic of Ireland stores, where positive like-for-like sales were recorded in every quarter this year after four years of decline.”

Meanwhile, mobile sales grew by 91 per cent in comparison with the same period in 2012, accounting for 30.0 per cent of total online sales for the year.
