Big W follows Aldi lead and pulls Australia ‘Est 1788’ T shirts from sale after online campaign
Supermarket chain Big W has followed Aldi’s decision yesterday to withdraw commemorative Australia Day T shirts from sale.Aldi had responded to claims that the slogan: “Australia – Est 1788” was racist.A Woolworths spokesman confirmed that the T shirts had been withdrawn from sale.Aaron Nagus, guest tweeting via the@ IndigenousX twitter account of over 11,000 followers had called for Woolworths to withdraw the T shirts this morning. He congratulated Woolworths on its response.
