VW’s Mark Hopkins joins Kia as marketing director

Kia has named former Volkswagen marketer, Mark Hopkins, as its new marketing director.

Hopkins replaces Lawrence Hamilton – who stepped down from the role to join Toyota – and has become responsible for overseeing the auto brand’s marketing efforts as well as leading the marketing team on online. He will also manage Kia’s CRM platforms and develop its Reevoo reviews and recommendations programme.

He said of his appointment: “I am really looking forward to working with the team to build even more innovative, open and creative marketing ideas which will further drive the brand forward.”

Hopkins, previously head of marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, reports to Kia’s commercial director Yaser Shabsogh.
