Apple hires Aegis Media’s Charlie McGee as Europe's head of agency partnerships
Apple has appointed Aegis Media’s Charlie McGee to the role of head of agency partnerships for Europe.
McGee, who was previously group trading director at Aegis Media in the UK, is understood to have joined the sales team of Apple’s mobile advertising network iAd, reporting to director for iAd director of EMEA Paul Wright, who joined the company last year.
Prior to his time as group trading director Aegis Media McGee was managing director of Carat Digital, a role he held for four years.
Paul Wright, who was previously Omnicom Media Group’s chief digital officer, was appointed to head up iAd across Europe last summer. Prior to that he was chief digital officer of OMD Group UK.
Apple launched iAd in 2010 following its acquisition of mobile ad network Quattro Wireless for a reported $275 million, which it then renamed iAd.
An Aegis Media spokeswoman said McGee will not be directly replaced.
Apple declined to comment on the appointment.
