O2 reveals raft of senior marketing hires

O2 has made a number of senior appointments to its marketing team under the leadership of recently appointed marketing director Nina Bibby.

Joining O2 from parent company Telefonica, where he served as chief marketing officer, is Jonathan Earl. He has been named head of customer strategy and development and is set to lead O2’s consumer marketing strategy as it looks to ensure customer experience is put front and centre of what it does.

Ian Cafferky, former chief head of brand for Manchester City, has also joined the telecom company in a new marketing engagement role, with a spokeswoman telling The Drum he will specifically focus on engaging with customers through end-to-end marketing communication.

Finally, Danny Russell joined O2 on 6 January as general manager, business intelligence, He most recently served as insight director at Paddy Power and in senior brand, research and strategy roles at Sky.

All three report into Bibby, who was brought in as marketing and consumer director for the brand less than three months ago, having previously been chief marketing officer at Barclaycard. .
