Opposition leader joins Twitter outrage at Corey Bernardi after ‘pro-death’ remarks

Australian opposition leader Bill Shorten has accused Liberal senator Corey Bernardi of demonising those who undertake legal termination of pregnancy.In a book he has authored entitled ‘The Conservative Revolution’, Bernardi describes terminations as "an abhorrent form of birth control" and described those who support the practice as "pro-death".His comments drew an immediate social media backlash, which Bill Shorten contributed to.Shorten tweeted: “These families should have advocates and supporters – not people like you trying to demonise them.”Bernardi, who has in excess of 11,000 followers on Twitter, follows no one.
