Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has said he turned his nose up at a request to cook a meal from human flesh after receiving a request from a television producer to do so.

Oliver, famed for his crusade against turkey twizzlers, made the revelation during an interview with Event magazine – but insisted he swiftly rejected the idea out of principle.

The cannibalism show was the brainchild of producers seeking to harness the shock value of such content for to drive ratings but has not yet come to pass.

Commenting on the cookery potential of human flesh Oliver added; “I know exactly what human meat tastes like. Pork. It tastes exactly like pork.”

A source close to Oliver insisted that this information did not come from first-hand experience but was instead passed on from accounts by contacts in ‘exotic’ locales.
