In time for the launch of series three of The Voice UK the BBC has unveiled the official The Voice UK app for fans of the show.

Available on iOS and Android, the app features the HomeCoach Game which allows the audience to try out the famous judges chairs and lets them listen to exclusive Blind Audition previews before deciding whether or not to turn based on the quality of the voice along. If the coaches - Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, and newcomers Kaiser Chief's frontman Ricky Wilson and Kylie Minogue - also turn for the same artist on the show, the player can earn stars.

As the series progresses game functionality will develop with players able to check out the other HomeCoaches’ decisions and compare their scores with friends via social media.

In addition to the game, the app will play host to an exclusive spin-off series – The Voice Louder – hosted by Emma Willis and Marvin Humes. The Voice Louder will contain a short show summary, behind-the-scenes action as well as a call to action to interact with the show via social media. Building on what fans enjoyed during series two, the app’s ‘latest’ section will give viewers access to performance clips, news, galleries and backstage videos, with Twitter integration to keep up with the online buzz.

“Last year’s Voice Predictor app was popular with fans, but this year we wanted to put the audience in the coaches’ chairs - make them HomeCoaches, give them a chance to rate performances and say whether they’d turn. The focus of the game has shifted from prediction to opinion – what would you do? How good a coach would you be? We wanted to make the experience feel more social (with Facebook and Twitter integration), richer and more immediate, with the addition of clips delivered straight to people's devices. With over 55 million views to The Voice UK clips last series, adding clips to the app seemed like a must,” said Sarah Clay, BBC Online commissioning editor.

The Voice UK’s online presence will continue into series three with The Voice UK site featuring exclusive access to show highlights with a regularly updated blog and track listings for each episode. Online voting will be included for the first time, with viewers able to vote during the live finals for free online. Contestants songs will be made available via The Voice UK playlist on Spotify, with a social media presence spanning Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Tumblr.
