Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Very.co.uk, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Boots and Argos are just some of the retailers who have already launched their Boxing Day sales - two days early on Christmas Eve.

With the last day for online shopping long gone many retailers are already offering discounts to savvy shoppers.

According to multiple reports shoppers are expected to make 105 million visits to websites today, an increase of 22 per cent from 2012, with many looking ahead to Christmas 2014 and trying to bag a bargain.

Some 117 million visits to retail websites is expected on Christmas Day, with a sales spike expected around noon and another at 8:30pm in the post Christmas dinner lull.

Experian digital insight manager, James Murray, believes the changing nature of shopping habits has seen "Christmas day becoming a significant shopping day".

Online retailer Amazon is expected to launch its 'Boxing Day' sale tomorrow afternoon with prices slashed by as much as half.
