GroupM, the WPP media investment function, is to acquire a majority stake in Vietnamese social media marketing agency, ClickMedia.

With around 55 employees, ClickMedia has a client roster that includes Unilever, FrieslandCampina, Piaggio and Estee Lauder.

The deal to acquire the agency continues WPP’s focus on fast-growing markets through digital media, and sees it grow its presence in Asia Pacific where it already employs over 47,000 people, with revenue of $5bn.

Already this week, WPP companies such as Millward Brown and Kantar have announced acquisitions in developing market places.
