PDSA has released the Big Pet Check, an interactive quiz with animated video designed to give owners an insight into the five pet welfare needs that all pets need to be healthy and happy.

The quiz features different questions for dogs, cats and rabbits

Manchester digital agency Code Computerlove created the site for both desktop and mobile audiences.

Nicola Martin, head of pet health and welfare PDSA, said: "The PDSA Big Pet Check gives owners an insight into their pets' five welfare needs. By answering a few simple questions about their pet's life, owners will get advice on how to improve their pet's wellbeing.

“We want to help the public turn their affection for their pets into positive action to help make a better life for the UK's pet population."

Tony Foggett, founder of Code Computerlove, said: “We've been working alongside PDSA for a number of months now, supporting a cause close to our hearts. The team was only too happy to build an engaging microsite that will help the nation’s pet owners fulfil the needs of their animals.

“We are particularly proud of the animation and the user experience of this microsite that will help to improve the lives of pets.”

The campaign was launched following findings from the charity's latest PDSA Animal Wellbeing (PAW) Report, produced in conjunction with YouGov, which revealed that the welfare needs of millions of UK pets are still being badly neglected despite 88 per cent of pet owners believing the UK is a nation of animal lovers.
