Craft brewery Lerwick Brewery has secured a deal with St Mirren Football Club to create Buddie Lager and Buddie Beer, to be sold in the Club’s bars.

Both take on the St Mirren imagery to reflect the Scottish Premiership Club’s branding and as well as being a brand extension, the Club receives 20p back from each bottle sold.

In addition to being stocked in St Mirren’s bars, Buddies can also be bought as 12-box pack, or a mixed case of each direct from local Paisley-based company The Real Ale Warehouse.

The Shetland-based brewery has also signed distribution deals to bring its flagship beers 60° North and Skipper’s Ticket to retail shelves this Christmas.

Of the deals, Jimmy Mercer, co-founder, Lerwick Brewery, said: “Like all Shetlanders, we have a very strong sense of belonging. We’re proud of our roots and of the beautiful Shetland Islands, and are just as proud of our products. It is great to see them coming to market across such a wide geographical area – and with some exciting commercial partners - and we look forward to seeing our market share and geographical reach grow in 2014.”

The Real Ale Warehouse is offering free delivery of Buddie Beer and Buddie Lager to all fans in the Renfrewshire and Glasgow area.
