Caroline McGinn has been appointed as editor of Time Out London.

Previously acting editor, McGinn’s appointment follows the promotion of former editor-in-chief Tim Arthur’s promotion to CEO of the Time Out Group in September.

Joining the Time Out team in 2007, McGinn said of the appointment: “I’m honoured to be taking on the editorship of Time Out London at such an exciting time for our flagship London magazine, our website and our global company. Time Out is an iconic brand, and it’s integral to the DNA of my home city, which is, in my humble opinion, the greatest city in the world. I was proud to play an integral role in the re-launch of Time Out’s London magazine as a free title last year and look forward to building on our successes.”

Tim Arthur, CEO of the Time Out Group, added: “I’m delighted to announce that Caroline has been appointed editor of Time Out London. As Acting Editor, Caroline has been a driving force behind the growth of the brand in London and her passion and enthusiasm will ensure she continues to oversee the successful development of the magazine and its digital platforms.”

Founder and chairman of the Time Out Group, Tony Elliott also commented that McGinn “embodies the wit, warmth and unique spirit of Time Out” and that he was “thrilled” by her appointment as “she will continue to take Time Out London from strength to strength”.

As editor, McGinn will oversee all editorial content in London across digital and print.
