Marissa Mayer has made another Yahoo acquisition, this time for an online platform which live streams concerts – Evntlive.

Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but Yahoo will be closing down the platform, which has raised $2.3m in funding since its 2012 launch, and moving the Evntlive team to other Yahoo video projects.

"Since launching our beta service in April 2013, we have live streamed hundreds of performances from amazing artists and festivals to fans all over the world," the company said in a statement. "Although our service will no longer be available, we are excited to be joining Yahoo's video team."

Yahoo told Mashable that it sees “a lot of potential” in how it can expand upon its “shared vision for an entertaining content consumption experience."

The acquisition comes just weeks after Yahoo hired high-profile TV news anchor Katie Couric to be its "global anchor.”
