Twitter appoints Marjorie Scardino to join board
Twitter has announced the appointment of Marjorie Scardino, previously Pearson CEO, as the first woman to join its board.The appointment came following Twitter facing criticism for a lack of women, with Sallie Krawcheck, a former Bank of America Corp. executive calling it a ‘joke’ at a recent Bloomberg LP conference.Scardino said in a tweet: “There couldn’t be a more exciting time in Twitter’s history to join!” This was her first message on Twitter, and came following the announcement from the platform.
