Nokia has rolled out a festive campaign centred on a series of unusual documentary style films, all featuring real-life people celebrating Christmas in unconventional ways.

The first film, ‘Canine Christmas’, tells the story of Shanna Olson, a dog lover who throws a Christmas party for her equally puppy-mad friends.

On the brand’s dedicated holiday site there is a sneak preview of the second film, also shot by Sundance-winning director, Jeff Feuerzeig, which is set to tell the story of a Christmas caroler.

As part of the activity, developed by Geometry Global, Nokia is also allowing people to create Christmas cards out of the unusual shots taken throughout the filming of the videos. Users can scroll through the various images, select and customise their favourite and then send it to a loved one via Twitter or Facebook.

The campaign is encouraging people to get involved across social media using the hashtag #holidayrealness by sharing their own photos or stories of how they celebrate the festive season.
