Binny Lum radio archive goes online

The archive of 1960s radio legend Binny Lum has been archived and made available online by the National Film and Sound Archive, Australia.

Binny Lum's radio career lasted 50 years

A total of 139 interviews with guests including Barbra Streisand, Sidney Nolan, Ron Grainer, Vivien Leigh, Margot Fonteyn and many other prominent personalities has been made available after being donated by Lum’s daughter, Sharon Terry.

None of the programmes have been heard in public since their original broadcast, and are now available in their unedited form for the first time.

Lum worked in radio from 1934 to 1984 as an actor, accompanist, scriptwriter and compere of fashion shows.
