WPP’s VML acquires Biggs Gilmore Communications for undisclosed sum
VML, the digital agency owned by WPP and part of the Y&R network, has acquired Biggs Gilmore Communications, a digital advertising and marketing agency in the US, for an undisclosed amount.
Marking VML’s third purchase of a digital agency in the last 12 months – having acquired IM2.0 and a majority stake in NATIVE – the agency’s latest transaction is part of a wider strategy from WPP to grow its capabilities, and revenue, in certain markets.
Biggs Gilmore, which currently employs 140 people from offices in Chicago and Michigan, reported unaudited revenue for the previous twelve months ending September 2013 of $21m.
A compatible client list with VML includes Kellogg, Kimberly-Clark, Foster Farms and Stryker, the medical equipment company.
