ABC's Natalie Edgar joins BBC Australia and New Zealand

ABC’s Natalie Edgar has been appointed by the BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand as its director of television.

Edgar is currently the Australian Broadcasting Corp.’s deputy controller at ABC1.

"Natalie’s passion for content and her first-class editorial experience will ensure our television business is in the best possible hands as we launch a premium BBC channel and raise our game in content production,” said Jon Penn, managing director of BBC Worldwide ANZ.

She will move into her role in January 2014, replacing former incumbent Deirdre Brennan.

Her role gives her responsibility for BBC Worldwide channels in Australia and New Zealand, commissioning and acquiring content.
