The toughest brief of the year? We want you to design a Christmas card for your rivals
Designing the agency Christmas card can be one of the toughest briefs of the year: not only does it have to achieve stand-out, but there's the small matter that doing work for your own agency can be more exasperating than tending to the most difficult of clients. In an ideal world you'd appoint an outside agency to do it for you, which is where we come in.
We are inviting agencies to tackle each other’s Christmas card briefs. These can be traditional, digital, humorous or deadly serious, just so long as they are creative. The Drum will then publish the best in a special pre-Christmas edition of The Drum.
Our friends over at Digital Podge have been instrumental in getting the ball moving on this and encouraging a little healthy rivalry among some of their guests, and already we have agencies including Amaze, Someone/Else, The Team, Precedent, Cubo and The Zoo at Google all signed up to take part.
Below are a couple of the card designs we’ve received so far, but if you want to get involved or think that you could do better simply email your own Christmas card brief (detailing who you are, what you do, who you are targeting and what message you’d like to convey) to thomas@thedrum.com by no later than 21 November. We will then pair you up with another agency and redistribute the briefs for you to get cracking on.
