Greystripe has announced the appointment of Gregor Smith as head of mobile, where he will oversee the pipeline of business development for mobile opportunities.

Before joining ValueClick company Greystripe, Smith has held roles at comScore where he worked as mobile sales director, O2 and Orange mobile networks and the global mobile advertising company Adfonic.

“I’m excited to be joining the ValueClick Media team,” said Smith about his new role. “The company has seen huge amounts of success in the mobile market and is known as an outstanding brand in the industry. I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that the role entails and I’m eager to help further the growth of the ValueClick Media mobile business in the European market.”

As a member of the senior management team, Smith will report directly to European MD, Richard Sharp.

Sharp said: “After a rigorous selection process, Gregor emerged as an outstanding candidate to help steer Greystripe to further growth across the international mobile market. He brings a great depth of knowledge and experience from both an advertiser and network perspective. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team and have every confidence in his ability to develop the business and help grow ValueClick Media. Gregor’s appointment marks our ongoing expansion and dedication to ensuring ValueClick Media remains one of the pioneering networks within the UK, and also our commitment to duplicate this success in the rest of Europe.”

Smith will work with the US team to implement new products and features to the UK market.
