Google has delayed its planned move to a new UK headquarters at Kings Cross by at least a year.

The Telegraph has reported that Google’s plan to move to a new "landscraper" in the Kings Cross area has been delayed as it aims to make the building “more ambitious.”

The company had originally planned to relocate staff in Victoria and Holborn in late 2016 into a building behind Kings Cross railway station, however that has now been postponed.

The new 920,000 square-foot building, approved by Camden Council in June, is expected to feature a swimming pool and a running track on its roof.

The development is part of a 67-acre redevelopment of the area around King's Cross station.

Construction is expected to begin on the building early next year and is expected to cost £650m.
