Simpsons 'chalkboard' gag pays tribute to late Marcia Wallace
The Simpsons television programme has paid a highly public tribute to longstanding cast member Marcia Wallace, who died last week, by referencing her in its ritual 'chalkboard' gag at the start of its 3 November broadcast.Each week since the show's inception, Bart Simpson is seen writing something amusing on the board, frequently in direct reference to real world current events.This week, he wrote only the single line: "We'll really miss you, Mrs K". The broadcast drew an immediately positive response on social media.Marcia Wallace died aged 70 on 26 October. She had voiced Bart's teacher, Edna Krabappel since the show launched.
