Former McCann Manchester strategy and insight director Ian Lloyd Jones has been named as the new planning director at Gyro Manchester.

Jones brings experience spanning B2B, food, retail, software, betting and gaming, electronics and financial services to the role, and over the course of his career has worked with clients including Manchester United, Brother, UPS and Virgin.

Prior to moving agency side, Jones worked in client-side roles that included marketing director and commercial director for Hilton Group Plc and RHM Foods, which has since been acquired by Premier Foods.

Of the appointment, Jones said: “I look forward to helping Gyro’s clients tackle some of their toughest challenges and achieve the growth and development all brands are looking for.”

Danny Turnbull, MD at Gyro Manchester, added: “Gyro’s offering is built around insight-driven creative communications in complex markets, and, as a result of that, the emphasis on our planning capabilities is really important. I’m delighted that Ian is joining us. His big brand and network expertise is ideal and the fact he has worked with quite a few of our key staff previously is a bonus.”
