Leading the round up this week is the news that Vodafone Group has appointed Adam Stewart as group head of digital. Stewart will join from Rakuten’s Play.com, where he has held the role of marketing director since April 2011.

Micro blogging service Twitter has poached J.J. Hirschle, former director of media and entertainment advertising at Google, to head up its retail division as part of efforts to bolster its business ahead of an initial public offering.

Adobe has today announced the appointment of Bijan Bedroud as managing director of Northern Europe. Bedroud joins Adobe from Eloqua, which was recently acquired by Oracle Corporation, where he spent four years as vice president of EMEA.

Nobull Communications has announced the appointment of Alicia Holbrook to the newly created role of digital director. Joining from Rentokil Initial, Holbrook will look to accelerate the agency’s growth and driving thought leadership initiatives and build upon the talent that already exists in the team. Holbrook also has editorial experience, having previously held the role of travel and lifestyle editor for Golf Monthly.

Australian production house The Sweet Shop has appointed Laura Thoel as managing director of its US office. She joins the agency from Smuggler.
