Jet2.com puts social media account out to pitch

Low cost airline Jet2.com has put its social media account out to pitch with a number of agencies approached by the airline around a range of services, The Drum has learned.

The airline - which flies from Belfast, Blackpool, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle – is expecting to hear pitches for the account early next year.

The pitch follows Jet2’s appointment of former Lucre senior account director Gaby O’Grady, who joined the airline in August of the year as PR manager. Lucre currently holds the PR account for the airline.

At present Jet2 has a social media presence on both Facebook and Twitter, with more than 72,000 Facebook likes and over 800 Twitter followers. Both accounts are used to promote special offers and discounts, feature Jet2.com news such as sponsorship announcements, and host free prize draws and competitions.

Currently Jet2 works with digital agency Hômejames on some social activity.
